Dr. Charles T. “Tom” Simms was born on Thanksgiving Day, 1947, in Albuquerque, NM, and graduated from Valley High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He followed his grandfather and father in becoming a pharmacist, graduating from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 1970. He was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society at UNM. His father was in the first graduating class of UNM College of Pharmacy. Dr. Simms then attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX, graduating in 1974, and was a member of the Baylor Ontological Honor Society. He returned to Albuquerque to practice until he moved to Taos, purchasing the dental practice of Dr. Dan K. Salter in August of 1985. Dr. Simms has greatly enjoyed living and practicing family, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry in Taos, and highly values the relationships with his family of patients and friends over the years. He is a member of the Santa Fe District Dental Society and a Life Member of the New Mexico Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is an avid golfer, and is a member of the Taos Men’s Golf Association at Taos Country Club. He also has been known to “wet a fly” on some of the beautiful trout water of New Mexico.
